Skiing in the Dolomites on the slopes of San Cassiano

San Cassiano benefits from one of the most convenient skiing locations in South Tyrol: in the center of Alta Badia, in the heart of the Dolomites and Dolomiti Superski and attached to the Pralongià plateau, where most slopes and lifts of the ski area are located.

The Piz Sorega lift lies just a few walking minutes away from the Guest House Villa Al Sole. This means it takes only a small walk and a short ascent to get from the hotel to the slopes in a few minutes. Here, at the top of the plateau, an endless number of lifts and tracks branch off in every direction, under the unique panorama of the Dolomites. The ski slopes are in the Dolomiti Superski circuit, which means that you can reach a huge number of locations located around Alta Badia with just one skipass: Val Gardena, Sella Ronda, Val di Fassa, Marmolada and Plan de Corones. Remember to try the Lagazuoi run, which ends precisely in the area just outside of San Cassiano.

Cross country skiing is also a big thing in San Cassiano. The only cross country skiing center in Alta Badia lies 3 km outside of the village, in the Armentarola/Sarè area. At the same location, you can also take part in astonishing snow shoes excursions.

But every holiday in the Dolomites requires also a time of relaxing and enjoyment. You can find everything you need in the pedestrian area of San Cassiano, full of bars, shops and restaurants for everyone's taste.
